Arb training and LOLER

Arb trainer and NPTC Assessor

I have been training arborists for 20 years via colleges and privately. I am also an NPTC assessor for units of competence in tree climbing and chainsaw use.

As a contractor and arb trainer I aim to ensure training is realistic to the workplace, while being up to date and meeting best practice. Most of my arb training is done via different training centres, such as Walford College, near Baschurch in Shropshire. Contact Walford for courses leading to NPTC in tree climbing and chainsaw use.

As I am not a fulltime arb trainer, working through centres often works best. That said, if you want a more one-on-one or small group service (something specific like moving into SRT), or if you need refresher training then please contact me directly and we can see what is the best way forward.

LOLER Inspector (Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations)

If you are using tree climbing kit and/or rigging kit professionally and need it to undergo a LOLER inspection, I am a certified LOLER inspector.

I will at the same time provide notes on compatibility of components, life span of individual kit and just general natter on climbing systems.

The cost is variable dependent on the amount of kit and how it is presented: sparkly and minimal, or filthy, twisted, and under layers of sawdust (and in one case hiding a wad of cash – please note: duly returned to the owner). Contact me for a guide cost.
